APEX didn't start with a business plan. It started with a frustration.
The problem with mountain schools
Anyone who has booked a ski or bike lesson in a big resort knows the feeling. A group of twelve. An instructor doing their best with too many people. A morning spent queuing for equipment that doesn't quite fit. A week that ends without anyone really knowing whether the children progressed. It works. It's just not what a mountain holiday should be.
A different starting point
APEX was founded in Crans-Montana on a simple conviction: the mountain deserves better than volume. Six people per instructor, not twelve. Equipment that fits, delivered where you're staying. A clear path of progression, so children can see how far they've come. And a team that actually knows this mountain — its trails, its snow, its shortcuts and its best light. None of this is complicated. It's just a choice — and most schools have chosen otherwise.
Built for this mountain
Crans-Montana is not a resort we picked from a map. It's where we live, ride and ski. The Bisse du Ro, the Plaine Morte, the singletrack above the Rawyl — we know when they're at their best and when to go somewhere else. That local knowledge is why we partnered with Specialized Crans-Montana for equipment, and why our instructors are certified, multilingual, and chosen as much for how they teach as for how they ride.
Where we're going
APEX opens with summer 2026: mountain biking, guiding and children's camps. Winter follows in 2026/27, with ski and snowboard. We're building this deliberately, one season at a time, rather than launching everything at once and doing it badly. The goal isn't to be the biggest school in Crans-Montana. It's to be the one families come back to.
