Who it's for
AGES
For children aged 6 to 10. Young riders ready for their first real trails
LEVEL
Beginners welcomed - who can pedal and brake without training wheels. No mountain biking experience needed — that's the whole point.
GROUP
Six children per instructor, maximum. Beyond six, a second instructor joins the group.
ENGLISH & FRENCH
Certified instructors, fully bilingual
This isn't six hours of drills. The bike is the means, not the end: children ride to get somewhere, and improve without noticing. Each day builds on the last, and Friday closes with a diploma and medals to take home.
THE DAY
9:45AM
Drop-off at the APEX office. Bikes and helmets fitted and checked for each child.
10AM
Warm-up and skills: balance, braking, body position, looking ahead. Games that teach without feeling like lessons.
10:30AM
On the trail. Short, playful loops matched to the group’s level, with plenty of stops to build confidence.
12:30PM
Lunch and downtime at the office. A moment to rest, refuel and swap stories.
1:30PM
Ride out or Explorer Card activity. The bike becomes transport to the afternoon’s playground.
3:30PM
Cool-down, free ride and the day’s highlights.
4PM
Pick-up at the APEX office.

FAQ

anything
My child has never mountain biked. Is that a problem?
No. The camp is built for beginners. The only requirement is pedalling and braking without training wheels.
Is the bike included?
No. Bike and protective gear are not included in the camp price. If you’re travelling without one, we arrange a fitted Specialized rental through our Crans-Montana partner, from CHF 45/day. Just let us know when you book.

What's included in the price?
CHF 515 covers the full week: certified coaching, afternoon Explorer Card activities, an APEX goodie bag with the official camp shirt, and an end-of-week diploma with medals. Meals are optional (+CHF 75 per week).
How many children per instructor?
Six maximum. From the seventh booking, a second instructor joins the group. Small groups are how we keep every child progressing and safe.
What does my child need to bring?
Comfortable sportswear, closed shoes, a small backpack with water and sunscreen. If you’ve opted for the meal, we take care of lunch — otherwise, pack one. Bike and helmet can be arranged through our Specialized partner if needed.
What if it rains?
The camp runs. We adapt the programme and choose the terrain to match the conditions. Only an official closure or a genuine safety risk leads to cancellation.
In which languages are the sessions run?
English and French. All our instructors are certified and fully bilingual.

Bike Kids or Bike Juniors?
Either works. Bike Kids is discovery-led; Bike Juniors focuses on technical progression. Tell us a little about your child’s riding and we’ll point you to the right one.
